Acknowledgements of Country are becoming standard practice in many organisations.

Our video eLearning is an effective way to help everyone in your organisation understand why Acknowledgements are practiced, when and where they are used and how to do a meaningful Acknowledgement of Country. Learners will be encouraged to find their personal connection to Country and to get curious about the lands they live, work and play on.

Whats involved in eLearning?

We host our video eLearning in a conversational format to encourage exploration.

Our eLearning is based on the common questions asked in Acknowledge This!. These questions and answers have been refined over three years of hosting workshops with over 20,000 participants (and counting!). We recognise this topic is dynamic, and will provide updated content at regular intervals to ensure accuracy and relevance.

Each section has a short video introduction, summary of key points and a reflection question.

The questions we cover are:

  • What is the context and history of Acknowledgements and Welcomes to Country?

  • What if I offend someone?

  • What is the 'right' approach?

  • Where's the information? How do I learn more?

  • Can I use Indigenous language?

  • When do we do an Acknowledgment of Country?

  • Is there a structure I should follow?

  • Where to from here?

We encourage courageous conversation and recommend hosting a live discussion with participants at regular intervals of the eLearning rollout. This enables people to reflect on their learnings, practice their Acknowledgement and explore further questions. These conversations can be facilitated internally or you can add a facilitated Q&A hosted by Rhys and Emma to your eLearning package.
